WOMEX 2024
Location: Manchester, UK
WOMEX – Worldwide Music Expo – is the most international and culturally diverse music meeting in the world and the biggest conference of the global music scene, featuring a trade fair, talks, films and showcase concerts. Over 2,600 professionals (including 260 performing artists) come together every October from 90 countries, making WOMEX the leading networking platform for the world music industry.
Music Estonia and the Estonian Traditional Music Center jointly coordinate the Estonian representation at the WOMEX presentation festival and conference 2024, which is the most influential meeting place of world music and folk, celebrating its 30th anniversary. The goal continues to be the prominence of Estonian traditional music at the international level, in order to create new export opportunities in the global music scene and to expand the contact network around the world. This time, the traveling showcase festival will take place in Manchester, England from the 23rd to the 27th. October so the focus will be particularly on the UK market.

The delegation is coordinated by Music Estonia in collaboration with the Estonian Traditional Music Center. In addition, Music Estonia is responsible for the offWOMEX stage, the joint Baltic exhibition area, and the Estonian networking event, and coordinates the Estonian reception in cooperation with the Estonian Embassy in London. The project is supported by the Ministry of Culture and the Tallinn UNESCO City of Music.
