EMEE mission to Japan
Location: Tokyo, Japan
EMEE members from across Europe will head to Tokyo to dive into the unique and exciting Japanese music market. Meeting representatives from sectors including sync, recorded and live.
Music Estonia is participating in the Japan mission to strengthen our connection with one of the most challenging music markets in Asia. The last visit to Japan, in collaboration with Finnish partners, was in 2018 as part of the Finest Sounds export project. The goal is to establish new connections and explore collaborations with companies through the European Music Exporters Exchange EMEE, with the potential to organize a North-Baltic delegation to Japan in coming years.
During the mission, meetings are planned with companies such as the PR agency Vegas PR, music technology platform Surf Music, distribution company SPACE SHOWER FUGA, venues like Blue Note and Moon Romantic, record label Pony Canyon, and music synchronization and licensing company Spine Sounds, among others. In total, over 20 music professionals will be met within four days. The program also includes participation in a reception at the Europa House, attendance at various concerts, and visits to the electronic music festival MUTEK.
Ave Sophia Tölpt, Director of Music Estonia is participating.
In addition, Hanakiv will be performing a concert in Tokyo as part of The Piano Era 2024 festival (outside of the EMEE mission).
