14:15 – 14:45 | Maris Pihlap and Markus Palo: Artificial Intelligence and Automation in Music Production

How can AI-driven solutions simplify and enhance the music creation process? Where do the boundaries between creativity and ethics lie in music creation?

Maris Pihlap is a musician, producer, and DJ, working both as a solo artist and a producer for other musicians. She has collaborated with artists such as EiK, Reket, Jüri Pootsmann, villemdrillem, and others. Maris has taught music production at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre and has been nominated for Producer of the Year at the Estonian Music Awards. Her work has also received nominations at the Estonian Music Awards.

Markus Palo is a music producer and sound engineer. Throughout his career, he has worked with both top Estonian artists and representatives of the alternative scene. Notable collaborations include artists such as manna, Valge Tüdruk, nublu, 5miinust, INGA, and many more.


14:45 – 15:15 | Karl Õkva –  Thorgate: Practical Examples of Technological Solutions in the Music Industry from Estonia and Abroad

How have software solutions been used in preserving musical heritage? How can technology assist in music composition? This talk will cover experiences with the Veljo Tormis Virtual Center, the Estonian National Opera, and previous experiences with music sharing platforms from abroad (South Africa and Sweden).

Karl Õkva is the business development manager at Thorgate Digital. Over the course of his career, he has worked on numerous music and technology solutions, both in hardware and software.

15:15 – 15:45 | Kristjan Nõlvak – Scoremusic: Paperless Music Creation and Performance

How does Scoremusic help shape the future of music distribution and performance by offering a secure platform for managing and sharing digital sheet music? Kristjan will discuss how technology enables real-time collaboration, intellectual property protection, and environmentally friendly solutions, opening up new and efficient possibilities for both musicians and publishers.

Kristjan Nõlvak is the founder of Scoremusic and a violinist with the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra. He is dedicated to bringing the music world into the digital age by merging the creative process with technological innovations. He believes that technology can—and should—support the creative process through responsible and sustainable innovative solutions.
