The city festival Tallinn Music Week (TMW), Music Estonia and Estonian song contest Eesti Laul will organize a first professional song-writing camp in Baltics on 30th and 31st March. The camp is curated by renown Swedish songwriter-producer Ben Malén. Applications for the song-writing camp can be submitted here until 22nd February. Participants will be announced in the first weeks of March.

8 well experienced international songwriters (2 producers, 6 top-liners) from Sweden, UK & Finland come together in Tallinn to work with 16 regional writers (6 producers, 10 top-liners). All writers will be divided into 8 teams that include one writer from outside the region and 2 regional writers, artists. The writing-working-demo recording period lasts for 2 days, by the end of the camp each team presents a song or songs. Each of the teams will include an already established recording artist (target) or have a specific target with them.
Malén, who has organized successful camps for more than ten years, will be joined by Robert Callum and James Stewart (from UK). Isabelle Ljunggren, Gustav Svennungsson,
Magnus Wallin, Erik Sahlén (from Sweden), Joel Isaksson and Oskar Nyman (Sweden/Finland).
We’re looking for experienced producers, writers, writers-artists. Ideally each producer comes with some prepared ideas. At the same time we’re looking for target artists (who do not need to participate at the camp) to record & release the song later on.
The cost of the camp is €1000*, that includes:
- Participation fee
- 3 nights accommodation in Tallinn, 29-31 March (suggested arrival time is Tuesday 29 March afternoon)
- Catering during two writing days
- Tallinn Music Week delegate’s pass (1 & 2 April, current price €225)
* For Estonian participants Music Estonia covers 70% of total costs i.e the fee for Estonian writers-producers is €300.
